The purpose of writing, Fatherhood by the Book: 3 Scriptural Principles for Dads, is a straightforward one, introduce, or more correctly, reintroduce Dads to principles and understandings that were a normal way of approaching and safeguarding the gifts and responsibilities associated with fatherhood since time immemorial.  My aim is to uncover these Scriptural principles for a new generation for the benefit of both the father and the offspring entrusted to his care.  

This book will cover three distinct Spiritual principles.  But, before we can move toward the discussion of these principles, we must make sure there is a clear understanding of the call and spiritual standing of every father who has placed himself under the proper authority of Christ.  In other words, every baptized man who is living out the promises of his baptism.  For the purposes of this explanation of the book we will do that based on one scripture verse,  

“For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every father in heaven and on earth is named.” (Ephesians 3:15) 

When we look at this from its simplest approach we arrive at one clear understanding.  Since we are named for Him, we are to do the things He does to the measure that we are equipped to do them. My goal in this book is to uncover, in part, the things that He did and continues to do and the way He instructed those named for Him to do them.
